Creates, develops and edits content for multiple platforms with a cohesive narrative under deadline.- Takes assignments for daily news and some longer-term stories and projects.
- Pitches compelling, informative, community-building, creative content that support key stories/themes/initiatives or that otherwise dazzle.
- Write both short- and long-form scripts for existing and new video franchises, spanning a variety of social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok).
- Take part in weekly content brainstorms and production meetings.
- Pitch new concepts for video franchises and assist in refining existing ones.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the production of high quality work.
- Assist in other tasks related to video productions and/or distribution channels.
The Essentials
- Proven experience as a content creator and writer.
- Comfortable on-camera; familiarity with video production a plus.
- Experience writing for broadcast and/or developing multimedia concepts.
- Ability to write clear, accurate news stories.
- Experience writing breaking news in real time as a story unfolds.
- Ability to frame stories for a global panregional digital audience.
- A track record of pitching and executing story ideas.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years editorial and digital storytelling and news environment experience.
- Proven ability to develop and produce video over mobile and/or television platforms.
- Passion for topical news and key issues of the moment.
- Superior editorial judgment, writing, producing, and editing skills.
- Understanding of diverse video formats, from live programming to storytelling.
