UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a full-time internship with the Protection Unit at UNHCR MCO Argentina Buenos Aires.
Established in December 1950, UNHCR is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for asylum seekers, refugees, returnees, internally displaced communities and stateless people. Organizational context
The Multicountry Office in Argentina (MCO ARG) covers Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, mainly countries of destination for refugees and migrants with need for immediate humanitarian assistance, protection intervention and, at the later stage, for various types of durable solutions.
The position
The Registration intern will work whit in the Protection Unit and report to the Senior Registration Associate. The ideal candidate should be proficient in spanish and have working knowledge of English.
The candidate should have data analysis skills, excellent written drafting abilities and the capacity to interact with different stakeholders to collect information.
Proactiveness and the ability to work in teams is essential.
Duties and responsibilities
Review of the Registry SOPs and case management operations for all aspects of the registry, in accordance with applicable rules and policies, including provisions for the protection of individual data and the prevention and identification of fraud.
Updating and mapping Partner Case Management flowcharts and correlating them to the process flow of the registry in PRIMES. (Visio skills)
Compilation and systematisation of datasets currently in use in PRIMES by each operation with the objective of analysing the dataset for harmonisation, completeness and adequacy.
Collaborate with the generation of standardised views in PRIMES (Microsoft Dynamics) to facilitate the collection of data for the generation of reports by the partners (Advanced Excel skills).
Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum qualifications required
In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO; and
Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.

Conditions
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 9.00am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 to 2 pm Fridays. The successful candidate will be assigned to support the Protection team in Buenos Aires.
Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.
