Communications Specialist

  • Find stories and campaigns started on Change.org at the national or local level with strong media and social media potential;
  • Produce content for social media and monitor and navigate the social media landscape to find the best tactics to spread campaigns and attract/engage audiences to grow brand awareness.
  • Use media to drive brand awareness and affinity and campaign impact, including engaging with media outlets, pitching to press, building reporter lists, reporting and monitoring media coverage, creating press releases and offering media training to petition starters;
  • Find and engage with the best outlets, journalists, influencers and relevant decision-makers to address and target for each campaign. This can include offline events, such as signature deliveries and press conferences.
  • Be on top of compelling issues and news stories to identify media and social media opportunities and share impactful stories to create more brand awareness;

The most important skills and capabilities for the role are:

  • Social media skills, including experience working with influencers and engaging with different audiences. Experience using tools of monitoring and social listening
  • Media skills, including experience working with and pitching to journalists, building press lists, and identifying the right outlets for a particular campaign/story.
  • Strong, fast writing skills that are adaptable for different audiences and platforms. You’ve got a strong sense of narrative, and you can turn out compelling copy at short notice.
  • Having your finger on the pulse of what people across Argentina are talking about online, and on traditional media, and a good understanding of current social justice, economic, political and environmental issues.
  • Speaking Spanish and English at an advanced level.

Target Experience

  • Spanish as a native language and advanced English are required.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience working in social media in a professional setting.

You have at least 3 years of experience working with press media.Basic design ability with programs such as Canva or Photoshop is desirable but not required.

This is a full time, remote role based in Argentina and requires being in Buenos Aires up to 2-3 times per month. You will work remotely the rest of the time.

Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are determined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location. The annual salary of a Communications Specialist in Argentina is 12,824,080 ARS.
